Uganda is ready for business with the West Midlands. “Boosting trade & investment opportunities”

Uganda- UK convention in association with Uganda High Commission and Uganda’ Honorary Consul in Leicester & the Midlands; along with strategic partners to include: Black Country Growth Hub, Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership – Growth Hub, Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership – Growth Hub and Worcestershire Business Central will be holding their first joint investment and export promotion conference in the West Midlands.

Uganda enjoys a unique location at the heart of Sub-Saharan Africa within the East African region and lies astride the equator. Uganda is a landlocked, bordered by Sudan in the north, Kenya in the east, the United Republic of Tanzania in the south, Rwanda in the southwest and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the west. With a population of 38 million and GDP Growth of 5.8%, coupled with Pivotal Regional Trade partnerships: East African Community (5 member states), Great Lakes (4 member states), COMESA (19 member states) – exporters have an access to this critical market of 489 million.

 

The rate of return on investment in the industrial sector in Uganda is currently 18%. With cheaper electricity, it will be 25%.

About The Ugandan Convention

The Ugandan UK Convention, a Trade and Investment Forum has now become firmly established as an annual event in the UK holding its 7th annual investment forum on Saturday, 16 September 2017 at Troxy, 490 Commercial Rd, E1 0HX London UK.

 

The forum brings together experts, business leaders, professionals and representatives from prominent organisations based in Uganda, the UK and internationally. Delegates have access to up-to-date information on the vast potential for investment that Uganda offers to both the domestic and international community. They can acquire business tips, obtain relevant literature on priority sectors for investment, take part in an interactive Q & A session and hear about the realities of doing business in Uganda.
